A slingshot, also called a shanghai or pea shooter, is a straightforward ranged weapon that consists of a Y-shaped body with an elastic band hooked up to the ends. It’s used to launch small projectiles, equivalent to stones or marbles, by pulling again on the elastic band and releasing it.
Slingshots have been used for hundreds of years for looking, warfare, and recreation. They’re a comparatively cheap and easy-to-make weapon, and they are often surprisingly correct and highly effective. In some cultures, slingshots are even used for aggressive sports activities.
